Welcome to EFFORT Organisation !

EFFORT, a Society for the Development of Agriculture and Youth, (formed 1999) was founded on the premise that development in India can take place only in proportion to the development of agriculture. Agriculture is the backbone of India. 700 million people on the subcontinent work in the agricultural sector- (approximately 70% of the population). Agriculture makes up the major share of India’s GDP. Since Independence billions of rupees have been spent in the name of rural development. However, it is our contention that it is agricultural development first and foremost that is the key to eradicate poverty, ensure food security, generate demand for industrial goods and promote overall development.

Message From Executive Director

EFFORT was promoted by a group of likeminded people who had rich experience in the field of social development and commitment, concern towards various issues that are impede the growth of the society. Since inception EFFORT concentrates much on Sustainable Agriculture and Natural Resource Management. We did lot of work in promoting the sustainable agriculture practices and to conserve the Natural Resources such Soil, Water and Vegetation. EFFORT facilitates the process and sees that community is involved at every state of the project management and make them to own project. The impact of the various interventions being facilitated by EFFORT is visible in the operational area and replicable models also created in some villages. EFFPRT as well farming communities felt that it’s a right time to promote farmers groups into Farmers Cooperatives to address the farm and NRM issues as united force. EFFORT is planning to move in this direction in the coming years in promoting Farmers Cooperatives which will be the base for promotion of sustainable livelihoods of small and marginal farmers, landless agriculture labor, women, and youth by upholding natural resources, sustainable agriculture and ecological balance. We request everyone to join your hands to strengthen our efforts.
